For 15 years, Lou has been a vital part of our team, ensuring that Monroe Square operates smoothly while taking great pride in the property and the people who rely on it every day. His journey is one of growth, expertise, and an unwavering dedication to his work.
A Day in the Life at Monroe Square
Lou is the driving force behind the daily operations at Monroe Square. From managing HVAC controls and tackling plumbing tasks to handling tenant requests and even clearing snow, he does it all. As the sole property manager on-site, he enjoys the independence that comes with his role while also knowing he can count on support from floaters or foremen when needed. His hands-on approach and problem-solving skills make him the face of Monroe Square and the person all the tenants know they can call when issues arise.
A Proud Moment at Monroe Square
Lou takes great pride in managing Monroe Square, especially after the recent renovations led by our talented Construction & Development team. The transformation—including the replacement of aging escalators, a full bathroom remodel, and the addition of beautiful murals highlighting Rochester’s local art—has brought new life to the building. Lou feels a deep connection to the property and is thrilled to see how these improvements have enhanced the experience for tenants and visitors alike.
15 Years and Counting
Lou’s journey at Buckingham Properties began thanks to his brother, LaNair Jackson, who introduced him to the company. Lou was first hired as a field crew member at Gateway Business Center, later becoming a floater assisting various properties. Eventually, he landed at Monroe Square, where he has grown into his current role and remains a key part of the team.
He credits much of his success to Chris Leistman, Buckingham’s Director of Safety and Risk Management. Chris has been a mentor, motivator, and daily source of guidance, shaping Lou’s expertise in property management.

Life Outside of Work
When he’s not keeping Monroe Square running smoothly, Lou knows how to have a good time. You might find him at the casino, confidently sweeping the roulette table, or out on the water, soaking up the sun on a boat.
