What started as a role as a Field Carpenter has evolved into a career as a Construction Project Manager, and Mitch continues to make an impact every day.
A Passion for Construction and Growth
Mitch’s journey at Buckingham Properties began with his hands-on skills in the field, but it didn’t take long for his work ethic and expertise to pave the way for bigger opportunities. Today, he plays a crucial role in producing architectural drawings, creating test fits, pricing projects, and coordinating with vendors and tenants.
“I love it,” Mitch says. “I love using AutoCAD, getting on the computer, and designing these spaces.” He takes immense pride in how far he’s come with the quality of his architectural drawings and the impact they have on shaping spaces for tenants.
Advocating for Skilled Trades
Mitch is a firm believer in the value of skilled trades and encourages younger generations to consider careers in construction.
“If you’re young and you like working with your hands, not only Buckingham but any construction company is a great avenue,” he says. “It’s a great skillset to have.
He also notes that trade roles are in high demand right now and have personally benefitted him as a homeowner, having the skillset to take on home renovations himself.
Beyond the Job: Coaching and Family Life
When he’s not managing projects at Buckingham, Mitch dedicates his time to coaching modified lacrosse for West Irondequoit. His role as a coach has strengthened his leadership and mentoring skills, which he applies daily in his work.
“As a coach, you’re mentoring and teaching these young kids, answering questions, and trying to guide them in the right direction on a daily basis,” Mitch explains. “It’s very similar to my work at Buckingham—coordinating with tenants and vendors, answering questions, and working together to complete a project.”
Outside of work and coaching, Mitch enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and children. Whether it’s camping or golfing, they love making the most of their time together.
